Dealing with Bipolar 1 and ADHD: My Story

Hi guys! I'm Savanna and I was just diagnosed with Bipolar 1 last year, but I've been showing symptoms since I was 16. I was also recently diagnosed with ADHD. I've begun treatment for both, but my family is extremely unsupportive about it all. I thought this was perfect when I saw it because I had hoped to find more people like me who understand the struggle. So hi!

Can you help? connect today

Same here! I didnt even realize how severe my adhd was and how it exacerbated my manic episodes at times. My family is rather supportive but we live on different sides of the country so theres only so much they can do. Just remember that in alot of ways our disorders can be super powers because we think in creative ways alot of other people can't! It helped me alot šŸ¤—

I certainly hope your psych doesn't have you on a stimulant to treat ADHD with comorbid Bipolar Disorder, because my psych told me that stimulants cause mania in Bipolar patients.
