Alcohol is a depressant, getting drunk sounds like a bad idea, you don't want it to become a habit. If you're not seeing a doctor or taking medication, maybe you should. And if you are taking meds, then you're usually not supposed to drink while on them. Do something you love, or that will distract you, music, dance, tv, a video game, or favorite hobby. You will learn to develop positive coping skills. 🙂
I like to drink wine from time to time cause it makes me more relaxed. But if you will get drunk and wake up with hangover it may stress you even more
I find that it depends on what you do and how you look at the alcohol. It’s really important not to think of it as a solution. I like to consider it more like a “I’ve had a long day and so I am giving myself an opportunity to improve it” rather than the “I want to be numb and this alcohol will solve that problem” that I used to use. I also try to invite a friend to drink with me. If I’m alone, I usually put on a movie that I love, listen to music that makes me feel better, work on some art, or reread one of my favorite books. I also make sure to pay attention to how the alcohol makes me feel and how I feel later on, just so that I can keep any feelings of dependency in check and determine whether it’s safe for me to drink again sooner than later, whether I should drink less next time, or if I need a break. Overall, my opinion is that if it’s not a frequent thing, I can think about it as something other than a solution or a need, and I listen to my mind and body it won’t hurt to have a few drinks.
I don’t really feel depressed just anxious and worry about literally everything but a hangover wouldn’t be good for sure so I haven’t tried
May be fun for a little bit, but most likely make you feel more depressed.
