Struggling with ADHD and Trauma Brain

So I've been struggling with this for a while, but trauma brain and ADHD have similar traits, I was recently (as an adult) diagnosed with ADHD with the whole test thing where you have parents and people you live/lived with fill out forms. My parents and childhood friends all say I was like this my whole life.Cool cool cool I feel validation for everything and what not, BUT I also experienced extreme trauma as a child. So what I'm saying is it just trauma brain? Like I feel like the adhd meds ho but what if I'm just setting myself up for addiction and I don't ACTUALLY need them. I know you can have both PTSD and ADHD and I'm probably overthinking I'm sorry (also sorry bc this is technically a repost but I put it in the adhd category first)

Personally I think a psychiatrist would be better suited to answer this question. Trauma and ADHD can overlap in symptoms especially as a child and since you're getting tested as an adult it would be more important for your psychiatrist to help with this. Sorry I can't offer much advise..
