Really struggling with horrible knee pain today. Was told the type of arthritis I have couldn't be prescribed anything strong. I've tried Diclofenac gel and that didn't do anything for me, so I end up taking ibuprofen almost like it's candy, which I know isn't good, but when I have to stand on my feet for work I have to try something.

Honestly if you listen to the commercial about any of the meds for our Autoimmune Disease who would want to take them? That’s why I don’t take any of them. The pain is real and everyday but trying to eat stuff that helps with inflammation and natural remedies.

@Frustrated I tried to start with powdered turmeric mixed in with juice and it was awful. I did that for quite some time hoping I'd be able to get used to it but to no avail.

@sorenachy I drink turmeric "tea". A mix of turmeric, ginger, black pepper, coconut oil & water. Makes a paste, then mix a teaspoon of turmeric paste into hot tea or coffee. Not too bad at all.
@sorenachy yeah I tried it too but it does not like my stomach.

I have osteoarthritis in my hips and I take tramadol which does help
I was on Lyrica in between gabapentin regimens...everyone is different but I found it to have a lot more side effects than gabapentin. Just something to keep an eye on.
@PeaPrincess I could no longer read the caption on TV or any books or newspaper etc and got zero benefit
@PeaPrincess I asked if it was ok to take with everything else I'm on, like cymbalta and buspirone, and was told it was fine. And of course I'm coming down with a head and chest cold right after I started Lyrica. So not sure if anything is from the Lyrica or if I am getting sick. It's so hard to decipher side effects.

@sorenachy I took Lyrica for quite a while, and it doesn't sound like your cold symptoms are related. I think it's just unfortunate timing. Most people have dizziness, and for me I needed to eat with it because I have a sensitive stomach. I hope this helps, and I hope you feel better soon. ❤️

I know it’s hard finding the right meds to help with the pain. Sulfasalazine helped my pain but made my head feel like it was going to explode

@Frustrated I wondered what that one was used for. I'm a pharmacy technician and don't always know what the meds we fill are used for. We have one or two patients on this medicine.
@sorenachy they told me for.the inflammation.
I have osteoarthritis and you can get something stronger, I myself take something a lot stronger. I would recommend seeing a pain management doctor. If you have any questions feel free to message me and I hope you get relief soon. ❤️

@Raquel226 what they said!
@Raquel226 I did reach out to my pain mgmt doc and they've now put me on Lyrica. Last night was my first dose. I'm on a tapering up schedule, so hopefully this works. I've got my fingers crossed.
