Dealing with Anxiety in Social Situations

having anxiety can be so frustrating. like i hate those moments where i can't even say hello or good morning to my coworkers. i'm sure they think i'm rude or lack common courtesy but i'm just genuinely too terrified to speak up 3/4 of the time

I do this a lot as well and I just hope that people are understanding enough to pick up that I'm not trying to be rude, especially since things like anxiety and autism are more present in the public conscious these days.

I try to at least give a small nod or smile, just to show I'm not ignoring them. I make sure any coworkers I have know about my anxiety, so it's not a surprise when it acts up.

thank you for this :) i believe thinking about doing these greetings nonverbally makes the whole thing a little less nerve-racking. it might take me a while to open up about my anxiety but i can work towards it
