Dealing with Anxiety: How to Cope and Connect with Others

I have really bad anxiety. It causes me to dissociate, so most of my life has been a blur. I can’t do anything normal nor be by myself. I’m ashamed and embarrassed. I really want to get better so I can start enjoying my life. Is your anxiety effecting your life too? How are you dealing with it? Hearing your experiences would help me feel a little less alone <3

I learned you literally just have to do it. Facing fears becomes a drug. You CAN do it. The only thing preventing you from doing anything Is YOU. I used to be held back but now, I laugh at evil and hope for the challenge. Nevertheless mfs will try to hurt you and get you down. Can you comfortably discuss the root of your issue?

Thank you for your response. I’ve been diagnosed with GAD, PTSD, and depression. I grew up in a chaotic environment so feeling safe within my own skin has always been a challenge. I try so hard to do the things. But I feel like my anxiety takes over. For example, I can’t drive. I try, but when the stress gets ahold of me, I dissociate without even knowing and that becomes dangerous. This applies to anything social. Talking on the phone, meeting people (so I can’t get a job or maintain friendships), or even leaving the house by myself to check the mail. This anxiety/fear is really debilitating. I’ve tried putting myself out there, but I dissociate or get physically ill. The more I try, the more depression hits me. I just want to get these symptoms under control :(
