I’m looking for an advice, I suffer from bipolar disorder,I am 44 years old I was married for over 20 years and now I am divorced because he couldn’t handle my moods and chaos , now I’m single for the first time since I was 18yrs and before I got diagnosed. I don’t know how to date or what to do when do I tell that person that I have bipolar?

@Marchi that's understandable. Just try getting to know someone first through electronic means like texting, zoom, stuff like that. If you start to feel more comfortable with them, meet in public places and get to know each other more in person. It's nice to have that digital buffer now instead of having to jump right in with meeting someone face to face from the beginning. Take advantage of the technology available today. Don't be afraid to start slow and learn how to interact with it. Everyone has to start somewhere to get to where they want to be going. You are not alone, there are lots of people out there just starting to step into the world of dating and learning to navigate in that world. Ultimately you need to do what feels right for you. Just give yourself some grace and some time.

When you can trust them not to judge you You don't have to put it all out on the table in date #1

I did a thing called Geno typing. It's a DNA typing that tells what meds work best with your chemistry. It told me to increase a med and take one away. Best I've felt in years. Psych has to order it and read it. Pretty pricy but worth every penny. Guess for better or for worse didn't mean shit to the ex smh

Where do I meet those people?

I would wait until it feels like a commitment is being made. I told my partner about my bipolar when we started talking about living together. It's one thing to get to know someone, another to join your lives together. That's when things like medical issues need to be addressed before jumping into that level of commitment. Of course if you feel comfortable sharing that information sooner, that is your prerogative and you should go with your gut. As far as dating is concerned, I suggest you try to be yourself. Your going to want to meet people that like you for who you are. I wish you the best in your future.😁
