Cymbalta making me angry?

ive started taking cymbalta for my depression and fibro a couple months ago and i feel like all it's done is make me angry. helped my fibro at first but im still so depressed and have such a hard time keeping my emotions lower than a constant rage (which was never the case b4!). anybody have a similar experience w this med?

I was switched to Cymbalta a few years ago and my depression was so bad I cried throughout a whole week vacation. Couldn’t wait to get back to my previous antidepressant. And it didn’t help my pain.

I really like Cymbalta, but sometimes it's simply not enough for depression. It's mostly for anxiety and chronic pain. Some people take Paxil, Prozac, or some other SSRI in conjunction to help improve mood. I used to take equal amounts of Prozac and Cymbalta, and it worked like a charm.

And it doesn't have to be an SSRI: tricyclic or tetracyclic antidepressants may also help. Amitriptilline is sometimes prescribed for depression and pain too.

I was taking it for the exact same reason and tbh I really liked it! Then I had seizures and I wanted to try taking less medication but now I’m thinking of going back on. I was on it for about a year. I felt like it made me feel really content and I didn’t let things bother me as much. Right now they having me trying Venlafaxine to see if that’s better for me before I go back to the duloxetine right away and tbh I’m not sure how I feel about this one currently. I’ve been on it for a few weeks and I really don’t know I’m still leaning back towards Duloxetine
