Just discovered CVS (cyclic vomiting syndrome) - anyone know more about this? Or have personal experiences? Thank you!

@Forevermore I’m sorry you had a bad stomach day yesterday. I also find stress can trigger bad days. I’m glad to hear you’re getting testing done to figure out if there’s another underlying issue, or if it may be triggered by AIH. It can be frustrating when you feel you have to do so much research on your own, but it makes doctor’s appointments more valuable. It can be hard to find doctors covered by insurance that’ll really deep dive into each issue you have once the list gets to a certain point. How did you rule out cannabinoid hyperemesis syndrome? Thank you for the post, and for your kind words. I hope you find this app is great for getting that little boost of support on hard days.

Thank you for sharing your experience! I was suspecting the cannabis use but from what I’ve read, my symptoms align more with CVS. I just had an episode yesterday. After being through some very stressful things recently. I have a history of severe childhood trauma and I’ve read it could be something that’s triggered by that. I’ve had a monthly attack for the last 6 months (right when I had gotten hepatitis — which the doctors think is AIH since I tested negative for the viruses. The actual CVS attack is the worst thing and pain I have ever experienced. It’s so debilitating and there’s nothing I’ve found that helps other than letting it pass. Mine usually last about a day or for a few hours. I had no idea this syndrome existed and I previously just assumed it was related to AIH, but they are so random and just come on and my liver levels have been stable. It’s another thing I have to keep on the back burner and talk to a doctor about. Still so new to this and I’m realizing how much you need to research on your own. 😔 thank you so much for sharing your story. I wish you good health. Hang in there, you’re stronger than you may feel sometimes. 💙

Hi! I’ve recently been diagnosed with cyclical vomiting, and have had it for a while. I just never knew it wasn’t normal. Essentially, any time I throw up, my body has extreme difficulty stopping. So I can almost never throw up just once in a day. Sometimes it lasts multiple days where the only time I leave bed is to throw up, and sometimes I have to bring a bucket into my room to be safe. I’m not quite sure what causes this. I know it’s common with cannabinoid hyperemesis, a condition associated with long term cannabis use, however I’m pretty sure I’ve ruled that out.
