Managing Crohn's with a Full-Time Job: Tips and Advice

How do you all manage a full time job with Crohn’s? I’m needing to find one but I’m worried it will be difficult to keep because I just have days where I don’t feel good and wouldn’t be able to make it… what are some things you tell and employer during an interview to prepare them for your situation but still sound like a dependable employee? Bonus question lol: how does disability play into this? Is there compensation/accommodations for those with Crohn’s?

I had to quit traditional work with my Crohn's diagnosis. It was a HARD decision. I've chosen work that is remote, flexible, and doesn't require me to work within a set amount of operational hours. You are covered under federam disability laws! The trick is employer's are only required to provide accommodations "within reason," and they may decide your requests are unreasonable. Examples of accommodations you could request: work in office 2-3 days a week, remote whenever your health requires it, bathroom access in office, extra time off for doctor's appointments.

thank you so much for this info!! If you don’t mind me asking, what remote work do you do?
