Alcohol Intolerance with Crohn's

is anyone else with crohn’s unable to tolerate alcohol? even with just a few sips my body freaks out! I get debilitating headaches, blurred vision, shakes and extreme vomiting which lasts about a day. not sure if it’s related to my crohn’s or just an allergy to alcohol, which does run in my family.

I’ve noticed that I can’t drink liquor. Just a sip of it will make me extremely nauseous. Wine I tolerate pretty well.

I learned that depending on your medication, your alcohol intake is better or worse. When I first started Remicade my doctor told me that alcohol would absorb in my system so fast that I'd get alcohol poisoning quickly. So I don't ever drink.

I can have a drink, about twice a year. More than that sets off classic symptoms, nausea bloating pain.
