Hey all! So as Covid numbers skyrocket in my state I’m again increasingly nervous about catching it. Is there any info out there about how Covid affects those with EDS? I have coworkers testing positive and a boss who’s not communicating well enough with us, and I’m so worried that my EDS could make me more likely to have a worse time with Covid.

Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (EDS)

Covid has been known to destroy blood vessels and with EDS ours can already be weak. It makes us susceptible to POTS and a lot of people have been getting it from Covid. While I have HEDS and havent gotten Covid, my boyfriend family who almost all have hEDS and got sick with covid ended up recovering really well. None of them have brought it back to me since I moved in (currently unvaxxed due to mobility complications) so Im counting on others to remain safe as well. It really just depends on your body and any comorbid disorders also play a roll. Its incredibly stressful and exhausting. The booster shot is the safest bet as it reduces most symptoms even when you do get it.
