Coping with Teacher Anxiety

Anyone here a teacher with anxiety? If so, how do you cope throughout the school day? I'm actually leaving after this year due to the stress, but I need some ways to make it to the end of the school year.

I am! My teaching helps and hurts my anxiety. I teach a life skills class to special needs kids so I don’t worry about being judged when I’m with them but they also don’t react like you’d expect all the time so it does cause some stress. I went into music education and it was too anxiety inducing for me so I switched to special Ed and it’s the best job I’ve ever had. I don’t really understand why they were so drastically different for me but they are. I do spend lots of time in my office alone each morning and afternoon doing relaxing work and I do my best to say hi to all my favorite people everyday. Small complaining to them helps a lot lol. Best of luck!!

I was a teacher very briefly but decided it wasn’t for me. What got me through was spending time with coworkers that it felt good to be around. Grab coffee tea or lunch with people you like at work. Orr do solo walks or playing your favorite games on your phone during a break. Specifically listening to funny podcasts also helped me during those times.

I'm a high school teacher. I take class brain breaks which my students seem to appreciate as well. During lunch, I make sure to leave my classroom and do something for me whether it's socialize, take a walk, or a power nap sometimes. During my conference I make sure to take 15 minutes for myself as well. What grade level do you teach?

I try to do brain breaks, too! But typically kids ask to go to the bathroom at that time, so not much of a break for me lol. I teach high school math, so all grade levels!
