Coping with Obsessive Thoughts About a Friend

I have a close friend that I think about almost all the time. My entire mood is related to how he reacts even if he isn’t upset with me it’s just my perception of it. How do you cope with these thoughts?

He'd be called your favorite person or FP. It's a very typical thing with BPD. In my personal case my FP knows she is my FP and we've gotten to where I can ask her if she is mad and all of that. A big part of it comes down to building confidence with that person at least to remember they spend their time with you because they want to and they don't hate you and all of that. It's hard to do. Good luck in your journey. Just take it one step at a time.
