I didn't want to believe it. On one hand it was nice to understand what was happening to me, but terrifying because I now couldn't ignore it anymore. The best advice I can give you is to just take it slow, get to know your headmates best you can, and regularly attend therapy sessions if you're able. There's also some really helpful resources on places like YouTube. Multiplicity & Me is an excellent resource

Not well. I fought it really hard and it was extremely difficult. I worked my tail off and now I feel really good about my parts and how we function together. I don’t talk about it with anyone besides my therapist and my husband but I am communicating on the daily in a healthy way with my parts now. It’s been a few years, and quarantine actually helped a lot because it separated me from some toxic relationships that would not have been supportive.
