Try to think happy thoughts, take a walk or just go out. It can be depressing just being around the same old things

For the last few months, I've been keeping a writing journal. I mark the date and how I'm feeling, what I've been thinking about, events that have happened, anything that might've been a trigger to me, etc. It doesn't necessarily get rid of the depressed sensation, but it calms me down a bit. And it also allows me to look back at things when I forget or when I'm trying to find a pattern/cycle of mood changes. Something else that tends to boost my serotonin is sitting in the sun listening to music, but not everyone lives near sunny areas.
