I'm not a big fan of taking meds. I understand that many believe it to be a chemical problem in the brain, but I don't really trust pharmaceutical companies or the AMA, for that matter. When folks are out to just make money, that has me skeptical. I focus on my work. I work as an EMT and have to show caring and compassion as part of the healing process for the patient. This makes me put the depression on the back burner, so to speak. It is also very rewarding when you truly help someone. The depression usually returns, but at least I take a break from it for a bit.

I use medication (which has helped me the most), therapy, and trying to remember to lean on my support system
