Having a good friend to talk to may help, too. That's basically why I signed up here. I'm open to talk if you want. Maybe talking about it with a non-judgmental person can help.
I am dealing with the same issue. I don't know the answer, really. I just know that it isn't something that's "normal" although it seems to be constant. One thing I heard once is to identify the source. Then, you look at it in one of two ways. 1) Can you do something about it? If you can, then do it. 2) If you can't do anything about it, then let it go. Easier said than done, sometimes, but that sentiment makes it a bit easier to shift focus.

Some ways to cope with constant depression include reminding oneself that feelings aren't facts and that depressive episodes will pass, keeping things that make one happy readily available, setting a goal for neutral instead of happy, taking time to self-soothe, and managing fatigue and stress. It is possible for someone to feel chronically sad or depressed, but it's important to remember that the only moment that exists is now and we don't know what will happen in the future.
