Firstly, I use my radical acceptance mental health skill which means that even though I really dislike it, it is what it is. Since I can't take Tylenol (triggers migraines) or Ibuprofen (makes severe GI issues worse), I'm prescribed Tramadol up to 3x/day. Diclofenac gel (also sold over the counter as Voltaren gel) up to 4x/day helps me a lot too, especially before exercise or exerting myself. Other creams I use separately or at the same time are methyl salicylate creams (like Bengay) and I find CBD creams/rubs helps me with muscle aches. If someone or you are able to massage especially sore areas, that can momentarily help. Sometimes I will use a foam roller or massage ball to get to bad trigger points. I occasionally use ice or a heating pad. Stretching or very gentle yoga (might want a thick yoga mat for this) have been beneficial for me. If you have access to physical therapy, I've also found that to be helpful when something really acts up (like my TMJ, back, shoulder issues, etc.) It took me MANY years and a lot of work to get to this point (but it's been worth it) - I'm able to go on occasional short hikes or walks now, practice some martial arts and my doc asked me to strength train whenever possible so my joints stop popping out as much. But please don't make comparisons if you're not at this level yet or if activities such as these are out of reach! Also, mobility aids (I use a cane or rollator walker and trekking poles when hiking) when I'm particularly flared up or when I must be out and about for longer have made a huge difference in my life. They help me with balance and conserving energy. I was able to go to Pride Fest for a few hours recently using my rollator walker! One more big tip, pace your activities and energy output when needed or when possible. If you happen to need a rest day where you do absolutely nothing, it's totally okay! You are caring for your body. Hope there's some or any helpful advice here. Wishing you the best, you're not alone.
