how do you cope with addiction

Honestly it’s really hard at times and I only did it for other people and my help. But my biggest helper was finding other outlets to realize my emotions such as journaling, listening to sad music, crying, and speaking out your feelings even if it’s not to anyone. I always found that I abused substances when I was angry or had some extreme emotion. When I got severely addicted I simply only stopped fully when I had no access to it. And continued by CONTAST distraction. I made myself so busy to the point where there was no time for anything else. However now that I’m having health issues it’s hard to stay away I simply cope by putting myself through the thoughts of how bad things were and looking back on videos of how bad I truly was. It’s a constant struggle unfortunately

I think I got on the right way to cope with my addiction. There’s still a long way to go, and I have some falls, but I learned to pick myself up anytime.
