My mother had COPD. Your best option is physical therapy in home. But I would recommend having someone go with you to the swimming pool to spot you and keep your head above water. This is great exercise and easy on the knees. And I'm going to throw something out there because of my mom. Get your blood gas checked at least once a month. Yes it's painful but it could keep you off a respirator for the rest of your life. People that are on long term oxygen therapy have a propensity to build up too much CO2 and it can damage your brain. You want to use the spirometer and excersise your lungs. You want to breath deep from the diaphragm and completely exhale. Do not take shallow breaths or breath just from the top of the lungs. This advise can add years to your life.
