I have also used Chloraseptic spray in my throat to numb the area that is irritated. I got a prescription for a tetracaine lolipop from a doctor in Downers Grove, IL. This worked similar to the Chloraseptic. I've tried the nerve block at Mayo in Rochester and gabapentin and other neuropathy drugs which didn't help either. I've had sinus surgery, acid reflux surgery, allergy testing, pretty much the whole gambit of things of this nature. So far, not much luck. They are supposed to be coming out with a new drug specifically for neurogenic cough when they get final FDA approval.

Allergies, vocal folds, GERD, asthma, sinus issues, medication side effects, COPD, neurogenic. Those are the options I can think of that I have been tested for. Mine is neurogenic.

I've had this cough ever since I had covid in December '21. It comes on our of the blue and I get a sensation in my throat and will have cough spasms that last a minute or two. I've noticed that if I use a 24 hour dose of allergy medicine, the coughing decreases and is less severe.
