Does anyone have a service animal? I'm considering getting one to help with my PoTS alerts and DPT, as well as with mobility. Also to stop people trying to push my wheelchair. Can people give me advice? UK based, so please don't give advice on 'how' to get one if you're not UK :3

I love my service boy, he is very helpful and super sweet. Having said that you lose a lot of privacy and can get lots of questions/stares in public. The dog will go with you everywhere and people will ask invasive questions.

Many people with POTS have found service dogs to be very helpful. They can be trained for tasks such as Deep Pressure Therapy, elevating legs, bracing for when you're unsteady on your feet, carrying stuff, picking things up off the floor, and alerting to POTS episodes. Some individuals also reported that their service dogs helped them regain independence and feel safer in public spaces. However, it's important to note that training a service dog requires time and effort.
