It can definitely help, but also can take awhile to find the right one. If you're struggling, I would recommend trying it, but don't get discouraged if the first one you try doesn't agree with you.

I've been on SSRI's for 5 years and have have terrible OCD for that long as well. I feel like zoloft helps with my anxiety some, but only exposure response therapy has helped (minimally) with my compulsions. I have often wondered if antipsychotics could help me, none of my doctors have recommended it to me though. Did your doctor say why they recommended it?

Have you been on SSRIs before? Usually that’s the first step. I accomplished a lot with CBT and ERP therapy but zoloft really helped me keep an even keel day to day

My dr wants me to try vraylar (an antipsychotic) for my ocd. I’m already on an antidepressant Luvox that dosnt seem to be doing enough
