Connecting Depression and Tiredness

Hey y’all. So I’ve been more depressed this past year off and on and I kinda recently upped my Zoloft and I think it has helped so that’s super nice! But last night I stayed up almost all night except when I fell asleep lol and so today I am tired. But since I feel tired when I am actually depressed, now I feel depressed when I think that I am actually just tired. It’s kinda annoying how they are trying to connect to each other. Have y’all experienced this both ways?

I definitely empathize. Once I figured out a good schedule for my psych meds (I did my Cymbalta in the AM, Prozac in the PM), my sleep somewhat evened out. I still occasionally use melatonin for insomnia, and it works like a charm for me.

Try some melatonin (anywhere from 3mg to 10mg) if you're failing to fall asleep within an hour or half an hour. If you feel tired the next day, I think you're depressed. Melatonin tends to not make you feel tired during the following day unlike Benadryl or Atarax.

It's funny that you say this, because I was thinking just earlier that feeling tired can easily give way to feeling depressed but it's definitely not the same thing. I think if I'm tired and I don't want to be it can feel depressing
