There are definitely people who have ADHD symptoms but are neurotypical and there are also other conditions that can present similarly to ADHD like autism. The best way to know is to get diagnosed but that's definitely not accessible to everyone. You can look up the DSM-5 and find a free pdf online pretty easily. This is the manual that psychologists use to diagnose so even if it's not necessarily a concrete answer but it can definitely help.

I know how you feel. I'm not diagnosed with ADHD, but I know I have it. My parents say I don't have it tho.

You could easily have ADHD symptoms and them all be symptoms of other disorders! There's a lot of overlap of symptoms with other disorders.

I’ve been told by my therapist that I definitely have ADHD (using the DSM-5) and I’m trying to get a diagnosis but clinics are full and if I’m put on a waiting list I wouldn’t get in until 2024. Are there any other ways I could get diagnosed without going to a clinic?

I feel all of you guys. I have the symptoms too, and some people say I have it and others are like what are you talking about. I also can't seem to get diagnosed either.

I have Adhd and no longer experience the hyperactive part as often as usual so everybody thinks that I have “Outgrown” it which is not what happens I just mask it

I'm not sure because I have attention deficit but I don't know if it would be labeled as ADHD since I can sit still sometimes I don't feel the need to move if I'm busy. But yeah there have been times tho where I need to move and be on the constant run. In class I literally didn't listen I was like daydreaming but I listened to some things. Maybe there's a diagnosis for this that's not as extreme like mild?

I have been told that for women you practically have to diagnose yourself. I have a friend who did get diagnosed and we have had such similar problems and experiences that I think I probably have it too

Well a lot of people see ADHD as just being hyperactive but that’s not solely what it is, I have adhd and don’t have the hyperactive part so much or when it does come out it’s not jumping and running around, sometimes I spend hours cleaning or organizing something or I spend hours, sitting down, hyperactively reading and researching something that randomly popped in my head or, painting drawing. But most the time I walk in rooms forget why I did, starting doing something get distracted and start doing something else completely forgetting the thing I originally was doing, paralysis feeling antsy jittery but just sitting there, all types of stuff….. anyway long rant short there isn’t a short specific set of things u have to have or do to have it, it comes in a wide range of things, some ADHD/ADD people have some characteristics others have and others don’t. If someone isn’t diagnosed with it don’t listen to them, just like someone who’s never had felt with depression can’t tell u if u have or don’t have it or how to feel or fix it
