I’ve started recently taking adderall, I’m not diagnosed with ADD or ADHD but u e used it to help me with college courses and it’s amazing and has helped me tremendously but I’m scared of the possibility of me becoming dependent on it to where I can’t even get myself to do an assignment without it. Has anyone else had a concern like this or maybe a solution to that? Or maybe a good alternative?

I personally would not recommend adderall, it doesn't work for me but I've seen what it can do to people.

I used to be on Adderall and I'm nor really sure there is any way to avoid becoming dependent on it while taking it regularly. Adderall worked well for me at first but slowly drove me into complete madness, I was rail thin, and completely paranoid and agitated all the time. I could never sleep. Sometimes for days at a time. I thought bugs were everywhere. It triggered OCD and now I have to deal with that even though I haven't been on it for over a year. I now take a drug called Sunosi, which does something similar, but it's a different drug class, so you don't form a dependence on it and it has WAY less side effects.

… on days you think you’ll need it! But do plan ahead!

I’ve been diagnosed for two years, and from personal experience, the best way you can fight dependency Adderall is through two scopes: physical and psychological. For the physical aspect, definitely exercise. I’m not a fan of working out, but I learned that working out helps supercharge our body’s process in detoxing some build-up that’s left over from our medications, effectively reducing our tolerance to a degree. For the psychological aspect, I take my Adderall on the days i think I’ll need it like the weekdays, but not on the days i think I won’t need it, like the weekends. Important to note: You know your body better than any one, don’t skip it on days you think you will need it!

Adderall is very addictive and I recommend taking a lot of breaks from it when you’re able to. Taking it every day over time will really cause you to build a tolerance to it and become even more dependent on it. I used to take it and id be so tired and couldn’t get anything done on the days that I didn’t take it
