Hello.. I’m really concerned. I have REALLY bad health anxiety, which definitely isn’t helping this.. but i’m looking for some peace of mind hopefully. So, I’ve had this mole on the back of my head for literally my entire life. it’s on my scalp, and it’s been the same size, and shape for as long as i can remember.. it’s sort of large and raised, but it’s always been there. Recently I’ve learned a lot about melanoma and I’m now really freaked out, I now can’t stop touching it, and convincing myself that I may have melanoma. I’ve been obsessively taking photos every week of my arms and legs to make sure I don’t get any new freckles. Should I go to the doctor and get my scalp mole looked at? Or am i just being anxious?

I lost a friend to cancer about 12 years ago. My grief showed up as health anxiety - I probably went to the doctor 6-8 times in the following year for random things. I had 3 moles removed "just to be sure." Eventually I was able to open up to my doctor about my anxiety and she was able to help me out. If you're privileged enough to seek care - do it, and try and be open about your anxiety when you do.

Odds are, it's nothing. If you've had it forever and it's never changed shape or grown, it really likely is benign. I would check with your derm just to be sure.
Go to the doc to ease your mind
Do you have OCD?
Go to a dermatologist get it checked , its a mole its been there forever , your fine
