It varies for me considerably. My partner does not understand my pain or conditions, especially in the moment but he is always trying to be helpful and supportive even though he doesn’t understand it. I struggle to communicate with him properly about it but he is always open and receptive when I am able to.

So it’s honestly a toss up. He can be loving and will take care of me. But he also quite often gets annoyed and upset with me when I can’t do what he wants/needs. I don’t have the spoons for half of his needs and it makes me feel guilty. We’ve been together going on 6 years, I do love him but as of late its getting more and more difficult and he isn’t always understanding

I am very fortunate to have a loving, caring partner. My girlfriend struggles with her own conditions that are similar to mine, and she is very empathetic and compassionate towards me when I struggle. She does well to take care of herself first, something I struggle with. Overall, I would say our communication is excellent. We may have disagreements, but we don't fight. We always say and show that we love each other. She has truly blessed my life and she only adds goodness to my world.

That's so sweet, mine asks if I complain but doesn't check in much... I feel like that is really important

My boyfriend doesn't deal with chronic pain, but he's so so gentle with my conditions and understanding. Hes constantly checking up on my current pain and fatigue "status" to make sure I'm okay.
