Tips for Making Colonoscopy Prep More Bearable

So it’s been several years since I last had a colonoscopy/endoscopy, and I’m having one next week. The prep solution is a little different than the ones I’ve had in the past - you start in the afternoon the day before rather than drinking it for the full day, and then again the morning of. What things do you guys mix it in to make it more bearable? Or can it really only be mixed in water ? Can I mix with water and chase with like sprite/ginger ale? Just looking for different options and what tips you all have found that help. Thanks!!

Pinch your nose and imagine you're drinking milk as it has similar texture. Use white grape juice or clear apple juice as a chaser :).

Thank you all! Yeah I’ve done suprep in the past and remember it being awful. This solution has a different name, Peg 3350? Apparently it’s the generic for NuLytely. I don’t think I’ve tried that one before

I usually mix mine with any clear fluids, 7up is my go to 😊 I hope your procedure goes well!

If it’s suprep then good luck! I couldn’t handle the salty cherry flavor without it coming back up. Chewing gum and having a flavored drink nearby helps! I mixed mine with water the first time and sprite the second, both i found to be not good.

The last couple colonoscopies I've had, I've done a miralax and Gatorade mix after downing one of those citrate things. It's chalky, but I don't mind it
