Has anyone here really really struggled to get through college, despite having strong passions and expectations for yourself? But felt really hopeless in your ability to get through and succeed due to chronic health &/mental conditions? I’ve dropped out twice, but still working at it with a very very light course load at community college. (I’m still only 19) How did u do it? How did u cope with failure when u didn’t meet ur expectations?

I’m also 19 and in college and I’m struggling with the same things. Having understanding professors really makes a big difference. If you’re comfortable let them know what’s going on and they’ll usually respond pretty well. Also learning to give yourself grace when you don’t live up to your expectations is really important. I’m still really working on this myself as I tend to be pretty hard on myself. Also knowing it’s okay to go at a different pace or a more non traditional route because you’re going through a lot more than the average college student.

I/we have made choices in the past that are affecting our present. (good and not) If I/we find that I/we are unsatisfied the current situation/direction of life… then need to change the things we can , the small choices made today do affect future . pray everyday to change the things U can. And for the wisdom to know the difference. Your future is your choice Like it or don’t It’s still your choice. F O C U S don’t look around. It’s slowing you down. Set sight on your goal and For gods sake cheer the fuck up. love you more than anything in this world Please. Choose happiness They cannot take your joy! 👍

I also struggled through Community college in a similar way. The best thing I found was having a small group of friends who could relate to my mental health problems and kind professors who understood that I was trying my best. It's helpful to message them and let them know what you're dealing with. I also slowly learned to not be so hard on myself over my shortcomings. They happen, but so do moments where you excel. Celebrate the little wins ❤️

Absolutely. I'm 26 and will be graduating next month after being in college on and off since I graduated high school in 2013. I've had a ton of support from my family, friends, and doctors (the few I've been with a while and trust). A partial outpatient program changed my life a few years ago. Since then I've had more self control to push through what's telling me to stop and give up. I wish you the best of luck as it's not easy. However, you can push through it! Celebrate the small things and be kind to yourself in regard to the negative things. 💕

@CranberryDry Also, take advantage of your professors working for you. Reach out and tell them what's going on in whatever depth you're comfortable with. This has been helpful for me.
