Clothes and Irritability with Bipolar Disorder

I can’t stand the feeling of wearing clothes when I am irritable. Every little sound and feeling drives me insane. I either end up ripping my clothes off or taking medication to calm me down to cope. Just wondering if this feeling is common with bipolar??

I didn't know it was associated with bipolar. I get that way too sometimes. It just feels so restrictive and tight. I'm also sensitive to textures and sounds. Sometimes I just have to lay in the bathtub with the water on or lay naked in my bed under the sheets and cry. It gets pretty overwhelming. Something I will look into now that you mention it

I get that too and don’t have bipolar but I do struggle with my anxiety or ptsd with getting irritable and it’s definitely worsened by sensory overload whether that’s stuff I’m hearing or feeling or seeing. I need calming things to distract myself in those times and time alone. Medication of course helps too haha
