Hi! I’m new to the app and found this thread. I have suffered chronic UTIs (7+ a year) since 2016, and recently landed myself in the hospital for severe urosepsis that had spread to my bladder, kidneys, and liver. It has been a few months since my last hospitalization for the infection (which lasted in whole, 2 months and 3 hospitalizations) and am still experiencing urgency and pain with urination. I was given Levofloxain 750 on discharge, and my recent urinalysis has been clear. Has anyone else experienced something like that following a serious UTI? Or could the lingering symptoms just be due to damage from the infection? Any advice?

@chronicbaddie You might also need a different antibiotic

Lingering symptoms are usually an indication that the antibiotic course was not long enough and the infection isn’t fully cleared.

@chronicbaddie Even if your test comes back negative
