Chronic Pain and Menstruation: Does Anyone Else Experience This?

Oh my gosh wow. I can’t believe I’m not the only one. Some of doctors can’t understand why that happens and even pushed me down a road for a year or so with an obgyn. At this point I concluded that during the period there is more inflammation so maybe areas of already more inflammation get extra inflamed? @Hr129 my chronic pain back issues too and just like you it gets soo much worse. @ unlucky unicorn the same is true for me. No cramps no normal period pain only my normal pain getting so much worse. Has anyone found things that help alleviate the increase in symptoms related to periods?

Yes! I have ankylosing spondylitis and I swear my back pain is off the charts around the time of my period! That and my hands ache terribly. Thats actually how I know my period is about to come on usually lol.

Oh definitely! I have Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome so my partial dislocations get worse then too.

Yes. Funny enough I don’t get cramps or any pain from my period but it does worsen already existing pain on occasion
