Chronic Migraines and Neck Pain

Hey so I've had chronic migraines officially for the past 3 years but I've been having them since I was 10 they got worse at 16 and so far the response I get from my doctor's is that my migraines are strange and don't make sense? Apparently my migraines seem to be caused by my neck, like the back left side of my neck is acting up. I did get hit in the head there but it was a long time ago? I was wondering if anyone knew anything about this or had a doctor tell them smth similar? For context, it was a 25lb medicine ball that was thrown across the room. It hit me right in the back of the head near my neck.

Your neurologist might not be qualified for you. I’ve had plenty that weren’t qualified or experienced enough for my case. Still looking for one that is lol. Head and neck injuries can contribute to headaches but there are also headache types which deal with the neck specifically. I would see if you could get a second opinion I have a lot of experience with neck pain but I also have several chronic pain conditions in addition to chronic migraines. I will say there is a correlation to some extent between the migraines and my neck tho.

It sounds like you should get to a physio asap! I got sent to physio for a while to see if it would help my chronic headaches (Even if it didn't help long term) it was really good as a way to rule things out.
