Do you have a chronic illness worse than FM?

Does anyone think that they have a worse condition besides FM, such as lupus?

Can you help? Connect today

I wonder that all the time. It is a constant fear of mine. I'm even thinking of changing doctors to get "re-diagnosed"

I have gone to so many doctors because I'm not satisfied with that diagnosis. I was referred to a rheumatologist. She was amazing and tested me for a whole panel of autoimmune disorders. I'm negative lol. Next step is genetic disorder testing.

I just learned that a lot of mine is actually caused by a spinal deformity! Hopefully when I fix that, most of my symptoms will go away. Don’t stop looking for answers!

This is a big fear of mine. I have been diagnose since 2002 and treatments that worked in the past no longer work - so I wonder if I need to be re-evaluated to see if something has change.

I'm pretty well convinced fibromyalgia is an autoimmune disorder even though medical field says differently

there are actually studies that came out in the last few years that are pointing in that direction. They just can't pinpoint EXACTLY what the immune system is attacking (although it's likely the nervous system.)

I've been tested for every autoimmune issue. I DO have Celiac disease (diagnosed 10 years before I started having FM symptoms) and having an autoimmune disease makes you 25% more likely to have another one later on. So it's possible that IF FM isn't an autoimmune issue I might have one and it was just undetectable...

I've been told that I don't have lupus as of now, but that I'm susceptible to developing it. my rheumatologist is keeping a close eye on it, so who knows

My fibromyalgia was caused by a genetic condition called ehlers danlos and I ended up with the trifecta eds pots and mast cell activation
