what is the best solution to chronic constipation?

My question would be when, how, and why did the chronic constipation happen. Based on that, you may find a solution that works best for you. Personally, I have slow transit constipation so using a laxative that helps rehydrate my stool really helps me. (There are lots of different laxatives that do different things to help your body go). It may be that your intestines aren’t pushing food through quick enough, or that your pelvic floor muscles aren’t working together properly, or any number of other reasons. Based on why, you may find the best solution for your chronic constipation. A few quick, first ideas are: - staying hydrated - giving a few different laxatives a try - trying a squatty stool while pooping - eating a little more fiber If any of these seem to help, you may have some clues as to why this is happening and help you go in the meantime. Hope this helps!

"Some solutions for chronic constipation include taking psyllium husk fiber with water daily, increasing vegetable intake, consuming prebiotic foods like raw garlic and kefir regularly, drinking a good amount of water, eating homemade chia pudding daily, and avoiding laxative medicine and antibiotics. Other suggestions include probiotics, large volume enemas, castor oil, motility medications, pelvic floor physical therapy, Citrucel (a fiber laxative alternative), hydrotherapy colonics, and prunes."
