I don’t have MALS (at least not officially) but I do have SMA syndrome and gastroparesis and get intense abdominal pain with eating. I would bring the information you have about MALS to your doctor, explain why you think you specifically have it and the impact it’s having on your day to day life, and if they say you don’t have MALS ask them “what tests have we done that tell you I don’t have this?” and/or “if this isn’t what I have, what is your differential diagnosis.” If they refuse to do any further testing for said condition(s) ask them to put that in your chart that THEY are refusing to do testing. At that point they usually go forward with testing otherwise it’s a liability for them if you asked and they refused and something happens.
