Choosing Between Libre and Dexcom Glucose Monitors

Hello! I’m getting the opportunity to get a constant glucose monitor and I have to choose between Libre and Dexcom! I’ve heard dexcom is better, but is there anything I should know before choosing either? Thanks!

I’ve used dexcom for about 4 years maybe more. It’s really amazing. It really helps me to balance my blood sugar levels. I also have it connected to my T-slim pump so my pump gives me insulin when my blood sugar is going high, and shuts it off when I am going low. I would strongly recommend. They also have a create support system!

I had Dexcom for about a year or so but it started giving me an irritating rash from the adhesions so I got libre. And I honestly love libre more. It’s given me less problems with the monitors and it helps me monitor everything better.

I use the freestyle libre currently and so far it seems pretty good! My only complaint is that I did get a faulty one once and that’s definitely a pain to deal with. Besides that it holds up well and typically gives accurate readings

I did not stick with the dexcom for long...as it kept coming off my skin. I seem to remember having trouble with even getting it attached properly. I now have the Libre 2 and it has worked better for me. But I am getting ready to change again....to a new type of insulin delivery system called omnipod. From what I understand it does monitor sugar level AND you can control injections of insulin with remote device. I need to read more about it and contact the sales person. It basically like a pump but NOT a pump....you can put it on and take it off.

hello! omnipod user for 16 years! so omnipod doesnt have a CGM- it comes with a monitor with test strips, and it connects to the PDM (personal diabetes manager) via bluetooth! i had the libre for a bit but its PAINFUL (i also have sensory disorder so low pain tolerance)
