costochondritis (inflammation of the cartilage in between the ribs) is very common in fibromyalgia patients. Mine often feels sharp, like stabbing, and tight- like my ribs won't expand enough to breathe. This feels very different for me than when I have difficulty breathing from my heart disease or asthma.

thank you for sharing… it’s so weird I’ll get pains in my chest that I feel in my upper abdomen/rib cage area. It comes and goes.. sometimes I’ll feel pain in my arm, etc so I always get concerned whether it’s heart related :(

I do. Mine starts off as a sudden sharp stabbing pain and it's worse when I breathe so I have to told my breath for as long as I can or keep my breathing as shallow as possible until it passes, which thankfully doesn't take too long. I also can't move when I get it cause that makes it hurt more too.

Dull pressure pain and sometimes a stabbing pain.. it usually goes to my ribs as well.
