Chest Pain and Rib Tightness: Seeking Advice

Currently in ER with chest pain, 3rd time this year, this time accompanied by rib tightness that is obstructing free breathing. Last 2 times didn’t show up on ekg or X-ray. This ekg, bl-dwork not back yet. Any ideas? They’re trying to chalk it up to my anxiety. I would not have found a babysitter at 1 am so I could go to ER for anxiety

Do you have a neurologist? I would check into MS. That sounds like a possible 'MS hug' attack

BTW they always chalk it up to acid reflux or anxiety for me

Maybe go to a different er and even if you ever had anxiety or do have it don't tell them because I feel like alot of them here that or anything they try to say it's that all the time just so they don't have to work tbh

If it's possible, try getting something like a CT or MRI scan, just to be safe. I wasn't taken seriously for my own chest pain for like over a year, and then we found out I had cancer. I highly doubt thats what this is, but knowing what I know now, I would've definitely pushed for scans.

If you’ve already had X-rays/ekgs done and they didn’t show anything, I’d suggest getting an MRI/CT done. There’s a reason nothing was found on the X-ray.

I can’t afford an MRI and my docs wont recommend it so I would have to pay the whole thing and ins wouldn’t cover

UPDATE! my chiro confirmed slipped rib syndrome, referenced old visits, my pain is consistent with ehlers danlos.

Said they don’t always slip enough to be obvious on scans.
