Chemo medicine for RA treatment?

This is all very new to me still. Has anyone heard of chemo medicine working to treat RA. My friend who has it got chemo treatment for it and its helped her a lot

Methotrexate is technically a chemo drug, but it's used in much lower doses for RA and isn't considered chemotherapy at that level.

so the way it was done for her she had to go to a center and sit there for hours it was in a IV bag. She was sick and out of it for a couple days.
