When I was first told I had it I ignored the doctor second time I couldn't and I was scared nervous and the comments I got from family and friends were cruel as time went on I just left things in God hands the meds were building up to 28 a day it was hard. The stress was putting me in a flare. I realized if I ask questions about the meds side effects etc. Did research it help you are stronger then you know smarter then you think before you know it you will be letting the doctors know what works and what doesn't etc. I have given a couple of doctors the lupus encyclopedia by John Hopkins it is amazing. The first thing they put me on is methotrexate and folic acid. I was on that about a month and they put me on azathioprine and hydroxycloriquin. Lupus is almost controlled

Thing is I'm already taking an antidepressant. And the other one seems fairly safe. Thanks

I’m newly diagnosed. They put me on hydroxychloroquine and cymbalta - I hear that is standard, I was told it depends on how severe the progression of the disease
