I've been taking my current medication for anxiety depression for about 6 years now. doses have fluctuated and I've taken short breaks at times. I feel like maybe I need to change it up and talk to my doctor about trying a different med but I'm scared because the first one I tried didn't work at all and might have even made things worse. Has anyone had experience changing meds or augmenting with another treatment that can share?

I’ve been on many anxiety/depression meds. Only one did not work. In fact, it did make my depression worse. My Psychiatrist would listen to me when I told him what was going on. He kept increasing the dose and tell me to come back in 2 weeks. The reason I’ve been on many different meds is because I started taking them in the early 80’s. I’ve been of them for about 10 years. I just recently started again on meds again. I started on one that I remember works well for me. Most of the meds used for depression can work for someone for a while then stop working all together. Personally, I wouldn’t be afraid to try a new med.
