CFS and Covid Vaccine: Any Symptoms?

Hi! I’m wondering if any of you fellow CFSers had trouble with symptoms following your covid vaccine? I am pro vaccine and do not - by any means - regret getting it but it did seem to heighten by neck pain and fatigue.

My second dose and booster were really rough. I scheduled them on Friday evenings so I wouldn't have to miss work. I was very fatigued and generally ill feeling for between 18 and 24 hours, then totally fine. I wouldn't be surprised if the fatigue could last longer in someone else. It's absolutely worth it though! I don't have CFS, I actually have long haul/post-covid (CFS is the closest thing on here!) and the vaccine has helped so much with my anxiety around getting covid for a second time. The side effects were definitely similar to when I had covid, minus respiratory issues.

Yep. Same here. My neck hurt to the moon and back and I was asleep for nearly a whole day after my Covid booster. But worth it!

Yes I am definitely pro Vax also! I just have had heightened CFS symptoms since March which was also when i had my second vaccine, but it could be completely unrelated

I’m pro-vax too. First Moderna shot was just soreness at injection site. Second was soreness at injection sight, flu like symptoms, and extreme nausea and dizziness for a week. The Moderna booster took me down for 4 days- my arm swole up for days, my armpit hurt really bad I needed advil for days, I was swollen all over my whole body for the first 24 hours, I slept a lot over the 4 days, and I was intermittently screaming in pain in my entire body except for my nose for the first 24 hours. Today is 5 days since and I feel much better.

I had a bit of fatigue after the booster but for me it was nowhere near as bad as the second dose! And it cleared up within a day or so

Hey Rika- I told my pcp about my symptoms following my booster, his advice was should I need another later on down the line load vitamin c and zinc ahead of time, he told me Tylenol load as well to help get my body ready for it. Too late for it to help me this round but maybe it’ll help you!

I have my first 2 shots, but im scared of the booster. I need to get it, and will, but I was down for like 5-7 days and completely out for atleast 2-3 per shot. At least that was my experience.

I got my booster a few weeks ago- 3rd shot total. I’m thrilled that I got it, but oh my gosh did it knock the wind out of me every time I got one. I was pretty much bed ridden with fatigue and pain and general illness symptoms for about two or three days each time.
