I think I might be starting to experience cataplexy. What should I be watching for?

My knees buckle and I used to be able to catch myself and hold on to something. I will fall down now but it’s my legs only right now and it happens when I’m startled.

I think that you need to have emotionally triggered muscle weakness to consider it an episode. At least that’s how I was diagnosed 😣

Could crying when you are extremely stressed be an episode?

Like about it literally like this... muscular weakness related to emotions. It xan be a particular emotion or all emotions like anger sadness laughing or startle. When you experience an event of emotion you immediately get a varying degree of muscular weakness. Some people lose all muscle tone and therefore fall to the floor. I just feel so weak that i drop my phone its too heavy to pick back up, my hands shake like a newborn trying to walk for the first time. With my startle reflex i feel like all my muscles melt into jello, like they have the consistance of jello, i lock my knees and dont fall and the feeling passes after a few seconds. You never lose consciousness but can look to other people like you do. It affects people diffrently, and each emotion can affect you diffrently, and some emotions can have no cataplexy. Not all muscles in the body are always affected. It has to be in response to emotion and subsequently muscular weakness. Sorry if that was a ramble im sleepy. Haha
