With OCD, trying to stop it often makes the thought, compulsion, or BFRB more powerful. The best thing to do is to either ignore it as best you can, or lean into it. Do whatever your ticks are more. That teaches your brain that this is fine, not something to worry about, which will result in less distress and, over time, a reduction in tics.
