Can't Sleep, Anyone Else?

Does anyone else have nights where they just physically can NOT sleep? I used to have terrible insomnia, but that past couple years I've gotten it under control. But there are some nights where I am just wide awake for seemingly no reason. I'm wide awake, unable to sleep or even feel tired until sunrise, mind racing, ect etc. Manic is the best way I can describe it. It feels like what it felt like during a Lexapro-induced manic episode when I was wide awake and didn't think I needed sleep. But it's not a manic episode because it's only one night every now and then, and this has been happening for years. It hasn't happened for a while, not since I moved out (about two years ago) but it's recently come back. Idk if it's, like, a stress thing or an illness flare thing or what. If anyone else experiences this and/or knows why this might be happening, please let me know. I will be so grateful 🙏

I have been using sleepio. It's a 6 week course to help you get to sleep and sleep through the night. There may be an equivalent in your area. It's cbt based. You track your sleep for three weeks, avoiding things like screens at night, giving yourself wind down time. Then you restrict based on your average time you've actually spent asleep, not just in bed. It's hard. You have to have set times for getting up and going to sleep. I still have to take naps in the day, but the restricting does help me fall asleep quicker. I hope this helps you. Be kind to yourself.

Yep been there done that. Been awake for 48 hours straight sometimes and I'm always in a depressive episode after. I don't have caffeine a lot so I'm awake there entire time without caffeine. It's weird to experience something like that.
