My Cancer Diagnosis: A Journey of Hope and Survival

In 2020 I went in for my normal yearly check up. I complained of really bad heartburn to the point of throwing up. He felt around and said he felt a long mass. We did a ct scan. They found I had stage 4 cancer and said it was end of life. They gave me weeks to live. He also told me that he had a friend in St. Louis that gave me a 1% chance with surgery. We did it. I almost did not make it through surgery. My tumor was 18x15x10 and had completely taken over my kidney. I lost it as well as my spleen, adrenal gland, part of my colon, part of both my large and small intestines, and part of my pancreas. It was diagnosed as a rare form of chromophobe cancer.

Hi Blue_Phoenix. I am usually too busy to be social. But I have 8 weeks to "kill," in recovery. Firstly, I am sorry you had this diagnosis but happy you are fighting. I wonder if you would share your signalment: age, sex work history. And, options you tried that were valuable and those that failed miserably. What is your health like now?
