How to Calm Down When Feeling Sad?

Sometimes I just feel sad, and when I talk about it I just cry. Does anyone know how to calm down?

Yes. And I learned something from being a big Star Trek fan. Even Spock realized that ruling his emotions was not always possible. Leonard Nimoy even realized this because of what he learned personally from playing the character. Spock had an advantage in only being half Vulcan. It gave in insight i to human behavior. The advantages and disadvantages. Sometimes our emotions are out of control. Sometimes WE AS HUMAN BEINGS ARE OUT OF CONTROL,or we're ignoring what's really going on. Don't ignore your emotions but tryvtobguide them. Journal, pray, read, think (don't OVERTHINK) that'll make it worse.) Evaluate and educate yourself. Are your saretonin levels down (sarotonin is a hormone), same with dopamine (dopamine is another hormone or part of your body chemistry. Get that checked. Are you just in a ROTTEN MOOD? Check all the variables, don't leave any stone unturned, but if you need to, leave it in God's hands. He may even have answer.

I get that. I bottle up my emotions a lot and when I start talking about them, I can't help but cry. It might help to find coping mechanisms that work for you, someone to talk to about your problems, or sometimes even just taking a few deep breaths. I also love a good nap after I'm mentally exhausted from something.
